Full Time

Fancy covering some of the most important topics on the national agenda today?

One day you could be writing about how Brexit is impacting on suppliers, the next reporting on the launch of a new product, or perhaps interviewing growers and supermarkets to find out how they’re adapting to the rapidly changing landscape.

The Fresh Produce Journal is the leading fortnightly UK magazine for the fruit and vegetable industry. We are looking for a talented and motivated staff writer to cover news and features in print and online, as well as write for our sister publications covering the international market.

FPJ, which has been published since 1895, is part of Fruitnet Media International – the world’s largest publisher of fresh produce business media. As well as a series of international events and conferences, we also run the leading national congress and awards scheme for the UK market.

The successful applicant will have a journalism qualification, the ability to work quickly and under pressure, and is a good team player. The position is ideal for a second jobber or motivated graduate with all round journalistic ability and familiarity with digital media.

Knowledge of the fresh produce or food industry is useful but not essential. In any case the successful candidate will be expected to build contacts quickly and not be afraid to pick up the phone and show their face at conferences and events. A second language is an advantage due to the international nature of the fresh produce business.

In return we can offer a competitive salary, ample opportunity for UK and international travel, the chance to be a part of a friendly and lively team, and a convenient London location close to Vauxhall station. There is the chance for progression within the company for the right candidate.

FPJ is part of a larger publisher that runs fresh produce magazines and events all over the world.
