Do you enjoy creating compelling and passionate content on issues fans really want to know about? Football.London is the first 24/7 fan-led resource for the capital's football clubs, and we are on the lookout for passionate writers to be based out of Canary Wharf.

With a specific focus on search and social trends, you'll provide coverage on compelling topics and shine light on exciting news that gets our audience talking. With occasional match coverage, you will have the opportunity to attend industry events, interviewing managers and players.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maximising opportunities for audience engagement and interaction
  • Assisting with long-term planning and produce content ahead of major events
  • Writing about multiple topics and stories across the day, where audience determines
  • Using Buzzsumo, Trends and other audience tools to produce content with clear trending opportunities
  • Assisting with long-term planning and produce content ahead of major events
  • Maintain and promote our content through live blogging, podcasting, video and other formats
  • Pitching your own ideas in line with the site's brand
  • Taking a creative approach to covering transfer stories and scouting reports
  • Supporting the team with editorial responsibilities
  • Taking direction from the Editor-in-Chief, Audience Editor and Engagement Editor over content creation and scheduling

Ideal Candidate

You will demonstrate an excellent understanding of SEO techniques and use these to identify digital audience and content trends to drive audience numbers. Experience writing for a digital audience would be preferable, along with an up-to-date knowledge of media law.
