The Content Emporium, Content Editor
We’re searching for a Content Editor to join our team in Bristol.
We create digital branded content, including website, newsletter and social content for a range of big clients. We also produce branded print publications for some clients.
The Content Emporium (thecontentemporium.co.uk) is a small but rapidly growing branded content agency based in the buzzing Southville area of Bristol. We work for some very large clients and are relied upon to create compelling digital content for them across a range of channels. We put the editorial voice into our clients’ marketing.
Most of the content we create is best described as ‘lifestyle’ – covering fashion, beauty, interiors, food and drink, entertainment and more. You may be working on a summer fashion guide and uploading it online one hour, creating and scheduling social media posts for an event the next, subbing the pages of a food guide in InDesign the next, then briefing a designer on artwork for a client newsletter the next. Client liaison and relationship building is a really important aspect of this job, as is working well as a part of our small team!
The role would suit somebody who’s super-organised with strong digital skills and an editorial background. You need to be confident writing engaging, 100% accurate copy, choosing gorgeous content to feature, uploading website and other digital content and dealing with clients and the other members of our team in a helpful and professional manner.
We work across fashion, beauty, interiors, food and drink, entertainment and more. The ideal candidate will have an interest in, and flair for writing on, these subjects, as well as the ability to think about how a concept could become a piece of attractive content.
Experience and skills required
Journalism training and experience at a magazine, newspaper or content agency is highly desirable. Experience in creating digital content for websites and social media and using a CMS would be a big advantage. Photoshop and InDesign abilities would be very useful but not essential as long as you can pick these up quickly. Strong sub-editing skills are essential.
What you’ll get in return
The Content Editor’s annual salary will be £22,000 per annum. The successful candidate will get 30 days' paid holiday per year including bank holidays, and will have the option to be part of the contributory company pension scheme. As part of a small, friendly team, you’ll be able to learn directly from the Editorial Director, Senior Content Editor, Art Editor and other members of staff. There is potential for progression within the company as the business expands.
