The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving those standards, and take action when they are not met. 

We’re looking for a talented communications professional to join our media relations team in the heart of Manchester.

We’ve a responsibility to help improve health education and practice in the UK, at a time when doctors and the health service are under more pressure than ever. You’ll use your experience of communications, public relations and dealing with the press to tell our story.

This challenging role will involve seeking out and communicating newsworthy stories to promote our unique work and the big difference we make. Working with a variety of national and trade media on high-profile issues, you’ll raise our profile, improve engagement and manage and enhance our reputation.

Proactive, tenacious and an outstanding communicator, you must be a natural storyteller who can write quickly, clearly and concisely. An influential personality who is always cool under pressure, you should also be able to make the most of social media opportunities in a fast-paced environment.
