PIMFA, PR Manager
Permanent, full time position with flexible working offered
PIMFA are looking for a qualified Public Relations Manager to join our in-house PR & Communications team.
The role holder will handle PIMFA's PR activity and work in conjunction with the wider PR & Communications team to inform a number of our strategic business goals.
A key objective of future public relations activity will be to build PIMFA’s profile in the trade and national media and reinforce our position as a key commentator on the issues affecting the personal investment management and financial advice profession.
Working with the Head of the PR and Communications, you will also be responsible for overseeing the development, planning and implementation of our PR strategy to strengthen the PIMFA brand and promote the industry.
The role will entail:
- Planning and implementation of PIMFA PR strategy
- Responsibility for maximising PIMFA’s media exposure and building relationships with the media
- Responsibility for PIMFA social media activity
- Excellent writing and editing skills to create compelling copy are essential, including the writing and approval of media releases, blogs and other press materials
- Being the first point of contact for media inquiries
- Briefing PIMFA spokespeople on communicating with the media
- Experience in horizon scanning, analysing and reporting on media coverage to assess the success of specific PR campaigns using a media monitoring system
This role will require very strong written and oral communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. We require a digitally competent self-starter, who has the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. This person must also have experience in creating and implementing PR strategy.
Qualification and experience
Education to degree level and at least 2/3 years’ experience in public relations, either in-house or in an agency. Ideally, the person will have an industry qualification in this area or equivalent, and have an existing network of media contacts.
