Our Communications Unit comprises teams covering media, digital, events and brand and marketing. help bring to life Plan’s international and UK policy, programming and fundraising work.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, dynamic media team. We’re raising awareness of issues that affect children, especially girls, all over the world, and we’re making girls’ voices heard with successful campaigns on issues like street harassment, period poverty, trafficking and sexual exploitation.
We’re looking for an experienced media professional who can tell compelling news stories, create engaging content and build effective relationships with senior journalists.
In the role you will have the chance to lead on raising the profile of our international development policy work, using your expertise to develop creative strategies that enable us to reach new audiences.
You’ll have previously worked in a busy national press team and/or in a news/media organisation, preferably (though not exclusively) with a government department, international NGO or other international relations focus.
Through this experience, you will have built and developed fruitful relationships with appropriate contacts at influential media outlets, successful identified and pitched stories, and written engaging, accurate and concise copy with a media focus.
