MailOnline, Senior Writer - Femail
MailOnline, the world's biggest English-language newspaper website with 202 million monthly unique visitors globally, is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Writer to join its Femail desk in London.
Suitable candidates must be NCTJ-qualified and have at least three years’ experience working in a busy national newsroom or at a national women’s magazine. Online experience is essential.
You will be experienced at bringing in exclusive stories, be able to turn around engaging copy quickly and accurately to very tight daily deadlines, be brimming with brilliant ideas, and have an enviable contacts book.
You will have an impeccable news sense and know where to look for great video and image-led stories, and be able to spot digital trends.
You will be proactive and be able to set up exclusives and interviews with PRs, and be able to flip from writing light-hearted stories, to hard-hitting features.
You will be experienced in writing viral stories, celebrities, society stories, royal families from around the world, real life, lifestyle, fashion, beauty, TV, food and digital trends.
Prior experience in leading shifts and managing a team of reporters is essential.
You will be flexible in terms of working shift patterns and weekends.
- Previous national newspaper website (or similar) experience
- Flexibility regarding shift patterns
- NCTJ qualification
- Be able to bring in exclusive stories
- Understanding of legal covenants such as the UK Editors’ Code of Practice, media law and copyright
