Role Profile

This role will provide media related support to an Executive Director. You will work with the senior editorial and executive management team and be actively engaged in high profile projects ranging from research and analysis to social media management, event organisation and content creation.

This is an ideal role for someone who aspires to build a career in the media industry. You will work alongside some of the most senior staff and journalists at The Evening Standard and have the opportunity to learn from some of the leading figures in the UK media industry.

Using your expertise in the media and communications industry you will: write briefings on a range of topics; assist with the delivery of high-profile campaigns; communicate with internal and external stakeholders; create content for social media channels; research specific topics of interest; manage large scale projects.

You will have strong written communication skills and have a broad understanding of all forms of media including social, broadcast, online and print. You will be familiar with owned, earned and paid for media across a wide range of channels and platforms. You will have a broad awareness of current affairs in the UK and internationally.

The role requires a candidate who is articulate, creative and willing to take a hands-on approach to their work.

Reports to: Executive Director

Candidate Profile

  • 2 years of experience in the media or communications industry, this could be through an agency, in house or a publication
  • Able to provide examples of published articles
  • Media monitoring experience
  • Strong grasp of social media and analytics
  • Proven success in a high-volume work and shifting priority environment
  • Works exceptionally hard, is punctual and is always prepared to put in extra time and effort where necessary
  • Keen to embrace extra responsibilities
