Job Details
Digital Spy, Britain’s leading TV and movies brand and the biggest website at Hearst UK, is seeking a talented Video Editor with experience of creating and managing video across multiple platforms to up its video output for its 24 million global unique users.
Working closely with Digital Spy’s Deputy Editor, Social Media Editor and Picture Team, and embedded with Hearst UK’s expanding video team, you will be responsible for sourcing and collating video around the biggest entertainment news stories of the day.
You will also conceive engaging, original features, transform our high-performing content into videos and produce memes for our rapidly expanding audience.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create high-quality editorial videos for Digital Spy across the website, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter and our external partners.
- Managing Digital Spy’s regular video franchises, from Transformation Timelines to Soap Scoop, as well as generating new, shareable content-based ideas.
- Create a high quantity of daily video to feed the websites best-performing content.
- Work with editorial team to find compelling entertainment stories and develop ideas that translate to video well.
- Review video performance across various platforms to highlight best practice and opportunities for the editorial team.
- Ensure content fits with legal and copyright guidelines.
- Maintain and increase targets for video revenue and views.
- Help upload and manage video publishing to our social media and the website.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Excellent video-editing skills, preferably including graphics and animation.
- Experience producing a high quantity of video and working to tight deadlines.
- Familiar with Digital Spy and a passion for its entertainment coverage.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills along with a keen attention to detail.
- A flexible, experienced self-shooter, as comfortable on a red carpet as in a studio.
- Comprehensive grasp of media law, particularly copyright.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
This is a full-time role in our central London office.
