Job Details

This is a one year fixed term contract (with potential to extend) and is looking for an absolute star performer to join this energy company as the Press & Public Affairs Officer. You will preferably have a background in energy, regulated industries or members’ organisations and be looking to make this role your own with your positive attitude and enthusiastic approach. You will be well rewarded including a generous holiday allowance, work in their central London offices and be part of a skilled and supportive team.

The Role

• Developing & executing press & public affairs campaign projects and supporting the delivery of communications strategy
• Contributing to proactive and reactive press office function
• Producing content including media (on and off line), factsheets, marketing collateral, infographics etc
• Event management including identifying opportunities, attendance, producing supportive content, briefings for external stakeholders, speech writing
• Working closely with external stakeholders
• Internal communication – producing content including newsletters, coordination of meetings/briefings etc
• Working closely with the Policy and European Affairs Officer, intelligence gathering, monitoring and producing regular updates for members

Skills

• Background in pr and communications and public affairs / policy
• Experience in the energy sector would be useful or regulated industries or membership organisations
• Event management experience
• Strong writing skills and ability to produce content across all channels as well as for marketing collateral
• Media savvy and politically astute with an interest in current affairs and energy matters
• B2b and b2c stakeholder engagement experience
• Some internal communications experience would be useful
• Available to start within the next few weeks
• Positive, can do attitude
• Able to work autonomously while also enjoying being part of a team
