Job summary
This job is part of the digital development and strategy department that works across The Times and The Sunday Times.
The successful candidate will work on a wide range of software projects, from editorial storytelling to developing larger tools to help journalists, and will work on other strategies to increase our editorial reach.
Key skills and experience
- Fluent in JavaScript, HTML, CSS and modern web-development paradigms
- Can show work examples using React and Redux; Jest or Mocha; TypeScript or Flow and NodeJS
- Significant practical experience working with common database technologies, both SQL and NoSQL
- Experience with containerised and serverless computing (docker and AWS lambda preferred)

About the digital team
The digital development and strategy department includes data journalists, newsroom developers, multimedia journalists, interactive news producers and audience development experts.
These teams find and tell stories on our digital platforms in the most appropriate formats and empower the newsroom to present stories in new and innovative ways.
