The Chelsea Magazine Company is an award-winning boutique publisher based on the Kings Road in the heart of Chelsea.

We produce compelling content for 17 special interest brands, which are published in print and on multiple online platforms. Every month over 1 million readers enjoy our print magazines and we reach a further 1.5 million online users via our websites, email marketing, social channels and mobile apps.

To create category-leading brands we employ a team of more than 100 dedicated and talented staff, who are led by an experienced senior management group of publishing experts. As well as the head office in London, there are offices in Cheltenham and North Carolina, USA, to maximise distribution to the growing audience in North America.

To ensure our brands remain at the forefront of their markets we employ a dynamic and ambitious team of media experts and ensure a challenging and creative environment where people are encouraged to develop their own ideas in order to enhance and grow the product.

The Sub-Editor will work across our three sailing titles – Sailing Today, Classic Boat and Yachts & Yachting – fact-checking for accuracy, editing copy to fit pages, writing captivating heads, sells and captions and making sure a word-perfect magazine gets to press on time. The role may also involve some occasional writing.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience as a sub editor and be confident working on their own, handling a large volume of content across the portfolio each month. An interest in sailing would be a huge help, but this is not essential. A solid working knowledge of InDesign and MS Office is a must and a confident and collaborative attitude with good time-management skills is required.
