PURPOSE OF ROLE:

We are recruiting for a Tone of Voice Editor to join the content team, based in London. This is a significant role across the interactive investor website and customer communications.

With an audience of 300,000+ customers and an even larger online presence through our high-quality investment content, we want to communicate investment topics in a fresh and straightforward way.

You’ll be a talented editor who is passionate about tone of voice and the use of engaging, jargon-free English in relation to investment communications and writing.

This role will suit someone with a passion for words and a love of investing. You’ll be a highly skilled sub-editor, with a keen eye for plain, jargon-free writing and top-notch grammar. Ideally, you’ll also be a multi-media specialist, skilled in video and audio, social media and blogging.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • To be the gatekeeper of interactive investor’s content tone and driving force for the editorial voice of the company. To ensure all content aligns with the company’s brand values and has consistency in terms of quality and tone of voice.
  • Ensure consistent on-brand tone of voice throughout all communications, including content, news hub, social media, press and PR, marketing pages and customer communications.
  • Work with commercial partners to develop high-quality sponsored content that reflects the right tone of voice for interactive investor’s customers.
  • Work with marketing, communications and PR teams to oversee tone of voice in their communications and to create an overall positive user experience.
  • Maintain the content calendar across the editorial teams.
  • Maintain house style guide for all writers and journalists in collaboration with other editors.
  • Oversee a tone of voice training programme for marketing and editorial, including delivering training.
  • Write presentations and speeches for the CEO and senior staff members.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • 5 years’ experience in a digital and multi-media newsroom, publisher or content provider.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately: proof read, fact check, and edit your own copy as well as that of external contributors.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced commercially-focused environment.
  • Previous experience using CMS.
  • Excellent written English.
  • Awareness of online metrics and analytics.
  • video and podcast editing skills would be an advantage.
