Pulped, a new youth entertainment online video channel launching in April, is seeking a Social Media Editor to take responsibility for all of Pulped’s social media initiatives including content creation, daily posting, community management and engagement, paid marketing and social media optimisation.

The ideal candidate is highly motivated, creatively inspired and has proven experience in defining, building and growing social communities both organically and through paid marketing efforts.

Pulped is looking for someone who has a keen understanding and desire to stay on top of trends and test new tactics within the ever-evolving social media landscape.

You have a passion for great storytelling and creating thought-provoking content. You are a creative self-starter who has excellent communication and organisation skills, and you have advanced knowledge of best practices across all social platforms (especially Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitter).

Responsibilities:

  • Create and post content to, and monitor, a range of social media accounts, simultaneously, with a focus on Instagram
  • Create search-friendly headlines and hashtags for optimal performance
  • Implement social media strategies to increase brand awareness, community, engagement and conversion (when applicable).
  • Collaborate with production team to create media that accompanies the Pulped videos on social—like gifs, quote images, and platform-specific graphics—and propose new templates and/or creative
  • Build and maintain all social media communities; engage with the Pulped social audience through active interaction and answering questions where appropriate so that our followers become loyal ambassadors of the brand 
  • Track the effectiveness and success of organic posts and paid initiatives
  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards and provide regular read-outs to senior management on key learnings
  • Provide best practices and recommendations for social media reporting/listening tools 
  • Manage and schedule all social organic campaigns and day-to-day activities while managing the editorial calendar with the production and editorial teams
  • Partner with PR/marketing teams to execute strategic influencer partnerships. Possible tasks may include helping to cultivate relationships with / manage outreach to relevant influencers / select partners to secure brand-elevating coverage, coordinate gifting strategy and contracts 
  • Manage, optimise and execute all paid marketing initiatives and budget, analysing key metrics on a regular basis and providing recommendations on strategy based on findings and results
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to analyse data and communicate it in digestible reporting
  • Ability to multitask and work collaboratively and effectively across internal and external teams
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment that is evolving and growing

 

Experience:

  • 2+ years or more experience managing and creating social media in content publishing or for a brand; journalism experience is a bonus
  • Demonstrated ability to write social-friendly and witty copy, with impeccable grammar and writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task, with excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of the digital and social landscape, with deep focus around digital video
  • An eye for design and proven experience with graphic editing programs and video editing software (Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator preferred) 
  • Expertise and excellent working knowledge of mainstream social platforms (Facebook, Instagram (Stories, Live, IGTV), YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat) 
  • General understanding of the evolving social media landscape and ongoing desire to stay on top of changes to platforms and best practices
  • The ability to work well both independently and with others, and handle multiple simultaneous projects with various lead times
  • An enthusiastic work ethic
  • Strong attention to detail and keen writing and editing skills
  • Experience uploading social videos, including video metadata tagging best practices, captioning and proper hashtags. 
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant social media tools and analytical software; proficiency in MS Office required
