Job Details

City A.M. is looking for a new full-time Property Editor to work across both our weekly Hot Property supplement and our award-winning Living section in our bi-monthly magazine.

The successful candidate will have experience writing for regional or national newspapers or magazines – or be able to demonstrate a body of quality independent work – producing accurate copy to tight deadlines and juggling multiple projects.

The wide remit will include property news, opinion, features on both national and international developments, as well as longer pieces on interiors and architecture.

Experience writing about the sector is preferred but more important is a passion for crafting precise and engaging features for City A.M.’s unique, professional audience.

The role will involve working with freelance writers and maintaining close relations with our commercial team as well as contacts in the property industry, including developers, PRs, lawyers and sales people.

The applicant will report to our Life&Style editor and will also be required to contribute to City A.M.’s wider culture pages across the newspaper, magazine and online, including sourcing and writing interviews, covering restaurant openings and reviewing films and theatre.

This will include working some evenings, often at short notice, and there will be the possibility of international travel.

The position would fit a staff writer looking for a step up to an editor role, an experienced freelancer looking to move into a staff position, or an exceptional recent graduate looking to take on a challenging but exciting new role.

Interested candidates should complete the application form below to submit a short CV and cover letter, provide links to relevant work, state their salary expectations and outline three potential features in 300 words or fewer.
