Are you obsessive about editing? Do you love making copy shine? Do you love writing and coming up with clever, original features ideas?

Cosmopolitan are looking for a Senior Editor to join its very busy features team, where, working under the features director you will be responsible for finding writers, commissioning and editing copy and maintaining Cosmopolitan’s position as the number one women’s glossy magazine in the country.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Forward planning and editing the regular sections (Move, Lust, Play and Earn)
• Coming up with ideas for the READ section and writing long-form features when required 
• Commissioning some of the UK’s best-known writers and bringing in new talent to the magazine.
• Mentoring junior members of the features team
• Plan, generate and write the Lust, Play, Earn, Move openers – and running a monthly meeting to find new ideas
• Represent the magazine on radio and TV
• Writing and editing copy to tight deadlines
• Assisting the Special Projects Director and Deputy Editor with events-planning, as well as on campaigns such as HomeMade
• Working closely with the digital team, writing and editing online content when required and working on cross-platform campaigns where necessary.

ABOUT YOU:

• Exceptional organisational ability 
• Forward thinking, with the ability to come up with brilliant ideas for all sections of the magazine and website.
• Proactive with a good attention to detail, who can work well under pressure
• Experience as a commissioning editor or equivalent on a national magazine or newspaper, as well as strong digital experience is useful. 
• Have a keen eye for detail, and always be looking for new ways to improve both their work and the content of the magazine
• Excellent communication skills
• Be hands-on and understand that no job is too big or too small
