Professional Beauty Group is looking for a talented and experienced Content Writer or Assistant Editor (dependent on experience) to join the team on its B2B portfolio of market-leading magazines, websites and events.

This new role will focus predominantly on our Aesthetic Medicine title, which reaches all the major aesthetic clinics and practitioners in the UK and covers the non-surgical aesthetic beauty treatments market.

Please note: this is not an entry-level role.

The successful applicant will be writing and creating content for all channels across print and online, as well as ‘live’ content for seminars and conferences.

The successful applicant will also create content for our flagship Professional Beauty title, which reaches beauty salons and spas across the UK.

We are looking for a proactive, team player who wants to immerse themselves in these exciting, fast-moving markets.

You will also need to build strong relationships with industry at all levels, attend events and ensure the independent, credible ethos of our editorial content is maintained.

Key activities 

  • Content – deliver content to ensure we are meeting the needs of the market across print and online including news and features writing 
  • Planning – working with the editor on developing ideas for content in the magazine and online 
  • Editing – commissioning, proofreading and editing content to ensure accuracy and consistency of tone
  • Editorial integrity – ensure our print and digital offering retains the independent, authoritative and credible content it is known for and collaborate with the team to constantly challenge and improve 
  • Market integration – build relationships and gain the confidence of key contacts across the sector to secure exclusive content and be first to market
  • Events – use market knowledge and contacts to help secure relevant speakers and deliver compelling content that grows the participation in, and audiences at, our face-to-face events (seminars, conferences, etc)
  • Work with the editors and sales team to offer solutions to meet the needs of our key accounts 


Key skills required

  • Excellent written and spoken English 
  • Experience producing clean, concise and accurate content including both long- and short-form features and news
  • Experience of CMS, SEO and statistical analysis of online content
  • News sense – the eye to spot a good exclusive and the confidence and tenacity to make sure you are first to cover it
  • Organisational skills and ability to meet tight deadlines 
  • Strong social skills and ability to build relationships
  • Industry knowledge is not a prerequisite 
  • Understanding of business is a plus, as is numeracy and an ability to analyse statistics
  • Competency using software programmes including Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe Indesign
  • Flexibility to attend numerous industry events, including some evenings and weekends.

The role will be based in Fulham, London, and the hours are 9am - 5.30pm.
