Job Details

Do you know your GBBO from your GoT?

Could you have fixed Fyre Festival?

Can you tell us the difference between Snap Shows and TikTok?

If you can answer these questions, then we want to hear from you.

The Nest is a new incubator programme developed by Hearst UK to harness the creativity of rising talent.

We are looking for eight talented individuals to take part in the programme in our Head Office in London for 7 weeks starting 15 July 2019.

During this time, you will tackle a brief set by Hearst’s Leadership Team or one of our partners, to come up with a game-changing new product or service.

As you explore, research and develop your ideas, you will gain unique access to the expertise of Hearst UK Teams across various departments, from editorial and digital to commercial and finance, who will provide guidance and support throughout. You will then present your ideas back to the business during the final week.

During your time with us you will work with experts across the business on key areas such as:

  • Market research and insight
  • Audience analysis
  • Building a product idea
  • Editorial development
  • Understanding the competitor landscape
  • Brand development
  • Building a marketing plan as well as an overall business plan

Throughout the programme you will be coached and developed by Julian Linley, our Business Development Director who is also a lecturer in journalism at City University and former Editor-in-Chief of Digital Spy.

This is a paid placement paying London Living Wage. Additionally, we will contribute towards accommodation/travel.

HOW TO APPLY

Please click 'Apply' to send us your CV and cover letter outlining why you are interested in the programme, what you will bring to it and what you are hoping to get out of it.

Closing date for applications is 6 May 2019. We will be in touch regarding your application by 10 May 2019.
