Job Details
BOAT International Media is looking for talented and extremely organised Picture Editor to work with the creative team in Wimbledon.
Reporting to the Art Director, she/he will be responsible for sourcing images for the print titles as well as supporting boatinternationalmedia.com.
The successful candidate should have experience on a picture desk and will have a good understanding of picture research and contacts with image libraries. Highly motivated, enthusiastic and proactive, she/he will confidently maintain the high visual standard of BOAT Editorial.
REQUIREMENTS:
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Managing the workflow of the BI picture desk.
- Researching, processing and editing images to Boat International’s standards.
- Managing the picture budgets of all print titles.
- Assisting the Art Director in managing budgets for Boat International photo shooting.
- Assisting the art department in the flow of proofs to and from the repro house.
- Ensure that high-res images are in in time, on budget and match the art brief.
- Organising and producing photoshoots.
- Commissioning photographers and illustrators to budget.
- Contributing creative ideas that reflect the brand values of Boat International.
- Offering input to creative meetings and sharing ideas.
- Overseeing product call-ins and deliveries.
- Communicating with senior team members to receive feedback and liaising effectively
with other departments at Boat International Media. - Managing junior picture staff and freelancers.
- Supporting the art department team throughout the execution of the print products and in the production of photo shoots.
- Producing monthly mark ups of the magazines.
Essential Skills & Requirements:
- Strong research skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience on a busy picture desk
- Capable in Photoshop and Adobe InDesign
- Excellent contacts with picture libraries
