Job Details

Clash Magazine, the award-winning independent music and fashion title, is on the search for a talented and experienced Deputy Editor to bring fresh new perspectives to our expanding London-based editorial team.

This is a full-time senior role that requires a deep appreciation of and passion for music, fashion and contemporary culture to maintain the discerning and market-leading level of standards that are associated with original Clash content.

Your tastes will be tantalisingly diverse, but underpinned with a penetrating knowledge and real enthusiasm for connecting with and enlightening an astute and engaged audience.

You will bring to the role a background in music journalism - ideally from print media - with strong subediting skills and existing industry relationships that will enable you to lead a small team invested in the daily creation of content.

Reporting directly to and working alongside the Editor-In-Chief, you will be responsible for generating new ideas and initiatives for Clash’s print, digital and social channels.

You will actively commission and write editorial features, and manage a vital network of contributors and creatives to meet exacting deadlines.

This role further requires a commercial awareness and a commitment to the connecting areas of the business where your influence can positively impact: e.g. Clash Live event booking and branded client partnerships.

Celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2019, the continued success of Clash’s pioneering spirit can be traced to the authentically progressive and creative enterprise that is encouraged in all our staff.

In a tight-knit yet fast-moving and industrious team, this role offers great opportunities for growth across a number of fields, and the potential to shape the future direction of not only your own position, but the Clash brand itself.

To apply, please send a CV and cover letter by completing the application form below.

As an equal opportunities employer, Clash aims to develop a diverse and inclusive workplace that represents a spectrum of skills, perspectives and backgrounds.

We hire solely on merit, and encourage applications regardless of sex, gender identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or belief, and disability.
