Job Details
The Wall Street Journal is seeking a general assignment reporter who can leap on some of the most important stories in sports: the scandals, courtroom battles and allegations of criminal activity that have become an important part of the modern sports landscape.
The headlines in sports today often veer off the field and into courtrooms and police stations.
Sagas like the gymnastics sex-abuse case, Colin Kaepernick's grievance against the NFL, the college-basketball corruption saga and the recent college-admissions scandal provide a great opportunity for a driven, curious reporter to pursue an aggressive agenda of fast-paced news reporting that has sports as its backdrop.
This reporter will also have license to broaden our coverage with features on sports that fall between the cracks of our primary beats.
