Job Details

Are you comfortable working with numbers as well as words? Charity Finance, the market-leading magazine for charity finance professionals, is seeking a talented editor to lead on production and guide the overall strategy.

You will take over a healthy magazine which has hit all-time highs for subscriber numbers and commercial revenue in recent years.

You will be responsible for filling the pages of Charity Finance magazine with content which is so compelling that finance professionals can’t do their jobs without it, and overseeing the work of reporters and freelancers as their role pertains to Charity Finance.

Elsewhere, you will write additonal content for CivilSociety.co.uk, engage readers on social media, and help to deliver the events associated with Charity Finance – currently Charity Finance Week, the Charity Investment Forum and the Charity Property Conference.

You will also liaise closely with our sales and marketing teams to identify and implement ways to drive revenue.

It is likely that you will have some previous experience of editing copy, ideally within a trade publication, and will be highly self-motivated.

You might be an experienced senior reporter or deputy editor looking for your first editorship, or an editor looking to deploy your skills in something more meaningful.

With excellent communication and organisational skills, you will be confident and authentic when dealing with people at all levels. You will have a keen eye for accuracy and excellent forward-planning skills. A head for research, some commercial nous and a willingness to get stuck in are all imperative.

Knowledge of charities or of finance will be an advantage. An aptitude for public speaking will also be useful.

At interview you will be asked to complete an editing test.
