Seeking native-level English-speaking copy editors / online editors

China Daily launched the 21st Century newspaper in 1993 as an English education weekly for Chinese students learning English. Today, the brand comprises both print and digital platforms, through which it provides quality, streamlined content to subscribers all across China.

The 21st Century group spans print media, new media, teaching research, brand activities and research training, establishing it as China’s leading brand in English education.

Candidates should have a proven track record of at least 2 years writing or editing for a major print publication or online media outlet.

We are looking for motivated journalists who can work in a team and generate story/program ideas. The role involves editing copies, writing stories and producing online programs.

To apply, please send your resume and article clippings/samples (particularly pieces on culture, arts, entertainment, sports and science) by completing the application form below.

Company

Since its launch in 1981, China Daily has grown to become the nation’s leading English-language newspaper.

With a global print circulation of 900,000 and a combined print, online and mobile readership of 150 million, it serves a vital role in telling the world about China, providing valuable insight into the world’s second-largest economy. Consequently, it is quoted more often by overseas media than any other Chinese publication.

Along with the flagship edition on Chinese mainland, China Daily publishes nine overseas editions – covering North and South America, Europe, the Asia-Pacific and Africa – and various digital platforms.

With 35 provincial and municipal bureaus in China, 14 bureaus and 34 printing centers overseas, China Daily reports news throughout China and the globe.

Chinadaily.com.cn, a leading national website, is China’s most influential English-language multimedia platform. More than 15 million readers from 180 countries have downloaded the China Daily app, and its PV reaches 52 million.

China Daily plays a key role in the Asia News Network, a collaborative effort of the continent’s leading newspapers. China Watch, a China Daily supplement, is published as an insert of major international newspapers, including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, The Daily Telegraph, Le Figaro, Handelsblatt, Rossiyskaya Gazeta, The Mainichi Newspapers, The Nation, Jakarta Post and Uno newspapers in Argentina, with a combined circulation of more than 5 million.
