Job Details
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To play a key design role in keeping the new design vision for Cosmopolitan on track at a crucial time in it’s development
- To offer support to the Creative Director and Art Director ensuring that layouts are produced to a high standard an in an appropriate time frame for the title’s frequency. To assist in generating new visual ideas for the main magazine and taking responsibility for specific sections as required by the Creative Director. To continue to evolve the Cosmopolitan design ethos across all brand platforms.
- To produce creative layouts in a fast and efficient manner, but with huge attention to detail and quality, as befits a modern, glossy fashion publication.
- To contribute to the design evolution of the title and take on responsibility for specific sections, working with section editors where required.
- To design additional material for Cosmopolitan events, online and digital products as required by the Creative Director.
- To come up with ideas, tears and concepts for editorial layouts and shoots.
- Finalling pages when required, including colour correction and retouching of images before press.
- To commission illustration and still life photography when required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
- Confident grasp of ADOBE CS5, photoshop, indesign and illustrator.
- Proficient in entire layout process from concept, to design, to retouching, to finalling.
- A basic understanding of censhare is preferred as is digital
- design experience.
- Previous experience as a Designer or Senior Designer on a
- commercial title.
- Team player willing to take direction
- Creative, enthusiastic, hardworking and positive
- Self-motivated and good at prioritisation of tasks
- Good communication skills
- Highly organised
