This role will report to the Planning Editor of Vogue International and will be based in London.

The Translations Editor will work within the central editorial team commissioning translations for all written content in 9+ languages, from fashion features to social copy.

The ideal candidate will have a resourceful approach to seeking out a core of top-level freelance translators that have editorial flair.

The Translations Editor will set-up and manage a creative and efficient workflow for filing, commissioning, editing, proof reading and sharing translated texts that capture the attention of Vogue readers globally.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a team dedicated to the digital growth and innovation of one of the world’s best-loved brands; and to gain an in-depth understanding of a diverse international digital publishing environment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coach translators in how to adapt English copy into 9+ languages and produce the best possible work that sits seamlessly with the tone of local editions.
  • Develop a system of proof-reading and interval quality checking to ensure the quality of translations remains excellent.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • A proven track-record successfully managing and commissioning translations at a deputy or senior level in an editorial environment is essential.
  • Experience working for a global company or at an international level.
  • Excellent communications skills and experience working internationally.
