Expert Investor is the leading brand for fund buyers, wealth managers, discretionary portfolio managers, and advisers specialising in investments across Europe.

Its audience relies on Expert Investor for unique news and analysis on fund flows and asset allocation preferences, fund selection, portfolio construction, the latest investment ideas and best practice, product launches, macroeconomic views and strategic industry developments. It provides detailed analysis through its news analysis website, quarterly magazine, tailored events and bespoke guides.

The Role

LW is seeking a Deputy Editor for Expert Investor to write and edit content about the fast-growing European funds market, including coverage of our internally-generated fund flows data.

As Deputy Editor, you will be working closely alongside the Editor on day-to-day editorial operations and your responsibilities will include writing, editing and commissioning copy for digital and print platforms, as well as generating ideas, and getting involved in video and other media.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing day-to-day news for our site and exclusive features and interviews for the bi-monthly magazine.

They will work with our audience development and sales and marketing teams to help develop the brand and its readership. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel and to play a role at our events held across Europe.

What you’ll need:

The ideal Deputy Editor will have experience covering financial markets or asset management or at least three years in B2B journalism. The role would suit a data-savvy senior journalist looking for the step in their career or an editor looking for a new challenge.

Last Word conducts surveys of asset management trends across Europe every quarter and a familiarity with using data in research and analysis would be a useful. Experience of public speaking or a willingness to develop skills to host events and roundtables would be a significant advantage.

You will need to be a highly motivated self-starter, with the ability to establish themselves quickly, building up industry contacts across fund groups.

Supporting the editor in editing content and over time getting involved in the events. A candidate with a sound understanding of sourcing, researching and writing self-generated news stories relevant to our readers.

Experience of writing about the asset management industry, either in the UK or across is very advantageous. Any investment experience would be an advantage as would video editing skills. European languages helpful, but not essential.
