Current Publishing, Designer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented designer to work for Current Publishing, a well-established, family-run business that produces three magazines in the history and archaeology sectors.

We have lots of vision for the future, a friendly team atmosphere, and are based in a beautiful riverside location.

Responsibilities:

• Magazine design and layout across the range of titles, and to tight production schedules.
• Preparing pages for print, image manipulation and optimisation, art-checking, and PDF creation
• Additional design work on marketing materials, supplements, advertisements, and web graphics.

The Designer will report to the Art Editor, and also liaise with various editorial, sales, and marketing personnel. Good communication skills are therefore essential.

Requirements:

The position would ideally suit a creative designer with experience in magazine layout, who is now looking for a role in which they will be heavily involved in the design of three prestigious titles, two with a global reach.

You will need to be fully conversant with Adobe Creative Suite, and have an in-depth knowledge of both InDesign and Photoshop.
