AFP, China Economics Correspondent (Beijing)
The international newswire Agence France-Presse is looking for an enterprising Anglophone journalist to join its team in Beijing as a correspondent covering China’s economy and businesses.
The role includes covering daily breaking news and writing longer, more in-depth analyses and features, involving some travel around China. The bureau also covers Mongolia.
This is an opportunity for a journalist who wants to develop his or her own stories for a major news agency.
The trade war, Huawei, China’s slowing economy, and the country’s fast-growing tech industry are among the array of stories that provide the right candidate the opportunity to break news and write in-depth features about the world’s second-largest economy.
AFP is looking for a fluent English speaker with the ability to speak and read Chinese.
The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of China and its economy, and have shown an ability to develop sources, break news and produce original stories.
