Take a job investigating the biggest news story of our time in the build-up to the crucial London climate change conference in 2020.

We've created an award-winning team of great journalists within a global campaigning organisation with a brief to go out and tell great environmental stories with maximum impact.

Join us to produce innovative, challenging and agenda-setting investigations to be shared with media partners and published on Greenpeace’s own journalism platform, Unearthed.

This role is all about delivering high quality, high impact, evidence-based and powerful journalism on the biggest UK and global climate stories – focusing on stories about the causes of climate change.

We’ve exposed think tanks willing to lobby over Brexit on behalf of US agri-business, and climate sceptics willing to hide money from fossil fuel backers. We’ve revealed a leaked report into serious safety failures at an oil giant, and that firm’s lobbying to weaken climate rules.

Our work has appeared on front pages in the UK and around the world, from Le Monde to O Globo. You will join a team whose stories are regularly covered by the New York Times, the BBC and other leading global news brands.

You will work with Greenpeace’s global network of journalists, researchers and campaigners to develop and deliver new story ideas with the potential to be picked up by national or global media outlets.

You’ll have the time and resources to tell stories in different ways for different audiences - from data-led interactive maps to videos – doing whatever is necessary to make a splash.

In fact, you’ll be a key part of a project to embed journalism and investigations in Greenpeace’s global work - working with colleagues in China, India, Indonesia, the US and elsewhere and using a range of tools from drones, labs and satellite images to our new Bloomberg terminal.

Working within Greenpeace, you’ll also support & encourage others to research and produce credible & journalistic content taking on an editorial role within the team and working with campaigners to source and develop story ideas.

We’re looking for someone who has a nose for ideas which will set and change the agenda and has creative ideas for how to both investigate and tell powerful stories.

Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enables us to stand for positive change through action to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.

Please note this position is temporary cover – in part - for a period of maternity leave.
