The media team is made up of editorial, production and sales staff and is responsible for the delivery of the GSMA’s media brand, Mobile World Live.

Mobile World Live is the world’s number one B2B news portal covering the mobile technology sector. The editorial team makes up the biggest group with editorial staff based in London, Hong Kong and the US.

About the Role

The Reporter position provides a great opportunity to be part of the GSMA’s highly successful media outfit with editorial staff spanning three global locations.

The job will interest an individual with first class written and oral communication skills – with experience of the mobile industry – who is keen to work at the cutting edge of mobile technology.

The role will require the need to stay abreast of industry developments, enabling the individual to build a profile across the industry and amongst peers.

The jobholder will work across a number of areas and the job will include:

  1. Editorial duties for the daily industry e-newsletter; news content creation, blog and analysis report writing, production and proofing
  2. Editorial duties for the weekly apps, devices and money newsletters; news content creation, feature interviews and proofing
  3. On-camera presenting (interviewing, feature production)
  4. Assisting in the production and onsite delivery of the MWC Show Daily publications (Barcelona, Shanghai and Los Angeles), as well as reporting from GSMA Mobile 360 events globally
  5. Hands-on creative input into the growth and development of the publishing operation.


About You

You will have:

  • Some relevant experience in an Editorial, Research, Analyst or Marcomms role within the telecoms industry
  • A sound understanding of the mobile telecommunications sector
  • The ability to write about technical issues in a clear and concise fashion across a range of copy (news, features, interviews, analysis, case studies)
  • Live event reporting experience
  • The ability to work under pressure on multiple projects and produce high quality products to deadline
  • A flexible and adaptive approach to work
  • Confidence to learn - and become proficient in - marketing automation platforms (eg Salesforce Marketing Cloud)
  • Proactivity and considerable drive and initiative
  • First class communication skills
  • Confidence to appear on camera (training can be provided)
