Job Details

The SCMP is looking for an experienced Video Engineer to work in our production studio.

Our production studio features three robotic pedestal cameras, three distinct sets including a green screen chroma-key area, full lighting rig and multiple large screen presentation monitors.

The production area also includes a fully functioning control room, a podcasting studio, a voice over recording room and two edit suites.

A successful candidate will be required to make sure that all the equipment is at peak efficiency and that the Studio team have all the support they need to produce top level video content.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement studio capability expansion or optimisation
  • Video/audio equipment maintenance
  • Studio time management
  • Project coordination with other sections of the newsroom
  • System trouble-shooting
  • Vendor support coordination


Job Requirements

  • 5-10 years experience in a broadcast or production studio
  • Familiarity with studio workflow, digital video and audio signals
  • Experience in multi-camera video set up
  • Familiarity with the latest production techniques and equipment
  • Expertise in back-end video infrastructure routing and setup
  • Experience in lining up cameras and lighting for video
  • Experience in server management and video codecs
  • A hands-on attitude
  • Familiarity with the latest video distribution strategies including social media


Work location will be at Causeway Bay office.
