The People's Friend magazine is looking for a Magazine Journalist to join the Features Team. The post is for 1 year to cover maternity leave.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team working on the world's longest-running women's weekly magazine in its 150th anniversary year.

Reporting to the Assistant Editor (Features), the successful candidate will be generating feature ideas in line with the brand's values, then writing or commissioning them, as appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have experience creating compelling content for a print publication.

Generating and researching ideas, working with PR teams, freelancers and picture agencies, you will have a proven ability to bring together all the elements required for a good feature.

An excellent command of written English, an awareness of copyright law and the ability to meet tight deadlines are essential to the role, as are good communication skills.

You should be a team player, working closely with editorial, production and design colleagues and the Editorial Director to deliver results.
