Job Details

Bauer Media’s award-winning automotive portfolio is looking for a talented and enthusiastic videographer to serve our two flagship motoring brands – Parkers.co.uk and CAR magazine.

You’ll be an ambitious videographer either already in the automotive industry or looking for your big break.

A knowledge and passion for cars is highly desirable, as is the ability to bring new ideas to the table, work alongside a talented team of road testers and help shape the creative direction of our video operation.

Excellent versatility is required: while shooting Ferraris and Aston Martins in glamourous locations is part of the job, editing consumer reviews of mid-sized SUVs and entry-level superminis will form a major part of your day-to-day workload. You will be able to work to tight deadlines and produce videos to a consistently high output.

The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of work (either made independently or professionally for a publisher) and will be as happy out and about shooting video as they are in the office editing the final package.

We are looking for someone experienced in Adobe Premiere Pro and a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects is desirable.

Day-to-day, you will help to produce a consistent, high-quality supply of video content for Parkers and CAR magazine, their YouTube channels and social media platforms, as well as contributing to commercial video projects.

You will need a full driving licence, a valid passport and the ability to work away from home on a regular basis.

To apply, send your CV and a covering letter including links to your best previous video output by completing the application form below.

This full-time position is based in Media House, Peterborough. Bauer Media is the UK’s biggest magazine publisher and offers a competitive salary, career progression and a range of benefits associated with working for a global publishing business.

Who we are and what we do

In the UK we reach 25 million consumers through our portfolio which includes heat, KISS, Grazia, Empire, Motor Cycle News, Parkers, TV Choice, Take a Break, Bella, Magic and Absolute Radio.

We believe that our scale, coupled with the breadth of our portfolio, gives us an advantage over pure play magazine or radio competitors. It also gives us a huge responsibility - our brands become the lens through which our audiences see the world, and for this reason, we take our responsibilities as a media outlet very seriously, recognising that we are responsible for shaping perceptions in the wider world.

Working at Bauer Media

Quite simply, our promise to you is that Bauer Media is a great place to do great work with great people.

Our people take an enormous amount of pride in the brands they support. They like their team members, and they feel supported by their managers. We all take collective responsibility for our culture, because we know it has a ripple effect across our brands.

That’s why our culture of inclusion at work, Belonging at Bauer, is at the heart of everything we do.

Belonging at Bauer is about our dual goals of being as representative as we can of the audiences we serve, and about creating a working environment where all our people feel able to bring their whole selves to work every day.

It’s part of everything we do, and everyone who works here is responsible. If you join us, you’ll be an important part of this as well.

Our Commitment to Inclusivity at Work

Inclusion is one of our core values at Bauer Media, and we want to make sure that everyone who works with us feels they belong at Bauer. We want a level playing field for anyone who wants to come and work at Bauer.

Therefore, if you require any adjustments to an interview process, please feel free to get in touch with HR.administration@bauermedia.co.uk who will be happy to talk through any adjustments you need in complete confidence and make arrangements on your behalf.

Adjustments can be whatever you need them to be, whether that’s around accessibility, preparation time and space, or just travel expenses to get you to the interview. Let us know what you need, and we’ll do everything we can to make sure you’re getting a fair opportunity to succeed.

We also know that know that the traditional 9-5, five days a week doesn’t suit everyone. So, we’d love to hear from you if you feel you’re a great fit for this role and would like to work flexibly. If you are the right person for a role in our business, we’ll find the right working approach for you.

Our work on mental health at work

We’re proud to be the driving force behind the “Where’s your head at?” campaign, which is working to put Mental Health First Aiders on an equal footing with traditional workplace first aiders. We have Mental Health First Aiders working across the majority of our UK locations, and will have 100% coverage by the end of 2019.
