The Wall Street Journal seeks a creative and collaborative coordinating producer to join our growing audio team.

This role is for a coordinator with strong news judgment and comfort with tight deadlines to support our new daily podcast, The Journal, and work across our existing collection of business news and tech podcasts and briefings, as needed.

We're looking for someone enthusiastic about WSJ reporting and excited about storytelling and explanatory podcasts.

Reporting to the deputy head of audio, the ideal candidate knows how to navigate a global newsroom and is eager to work on a dynamic daily show, as well as pitch in on other podcasts.

While the role is set for normal work hours, it also requires flexibility and openness to weekend, holiday and after-hours work.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Daily fact-checking of scripts and episodes in production
• Coordinating with the digital newsroom to stay on top of publishing dates and deadlines
• Collaborating with reporters and editors to surface potential episode ideas
• Working with standards and legal departments to ensure all journalistic and legal standards are followed at all times
• Identifying and sourcing audio for use in stories
• Booking interviews with both outside sources and newsroom staff
• Assisting with original reporting for audio

WHAT YOU HAVE

• 4+ years of newsroom and journalism experience, preferably at a global news organization
• A passion for business, markets, and economic stories
• Strong judgment identifying smart business angles in stories
• Experience producing audio and other multimedia skills are a plus
• Comfort balancing multiple projects and tasks
• Detail-oriented to quickly fact-check copy
• Ability to make decisions under pressure and meet deadlines
• Flexibility in changing and handing off tasks
