The Wall Street Journal is seeking an experienced journalist to join its U.S. news leadership team in a newly created position, Education Bureau Chief.

The editor will run the Journal's coverage of education, a subject about which we and our readers care passionately.

The bureau covers all aspects of education from the college admissions scandal to pre-K access, from new approaches to teaching reading to issues of campus free speech.

The ideal candidate will bring both investigative drive and narrative craft. The ability to spot memorable stories is a must.

A successful editor will have a great touch for engaging on all platforms. The editor needs to love news and big, fast-breaking news stories

This is a great opportunity for someone eager to be part of the biggest stories of the day, while striving for deeply reported narratives, investigations and enterprise journalism. The editor needs to be a great manager and collaborator.

The job requires leading a team of reporters in New York as well as other locations across the U.S.
