Your role:

We are looking for an Editor to run the South West District area - the biggest patch in the UK - providing quality live, breaking and exclusive News content for The Sun across all platforms.

You will be working for The Sun, reporting to the Head of News / Head of Content .

Day to day you will: 

  • Create exclusive news stories and content for print and online 
  • Take responsibility for producing exclusive content for the Daily and Sunday paper editions.
  • Work closely with the Head of News and Head of Content to help produce ideas for outstanding campaigns, features and investigations. 
  • Work with the Head of News and Head of Content to provide separate online content where appropriate. 
  • Consult with agencies, freelance and PRs in the South West to commission the very best exclusive content. 
  • Understand and ensure the team complies with relevant privacy and libel laws and the IPSO code. 
  • Assist with other duties as and when required to ensure the papers success.


What we’re looking for from you: 

  • Ability to deal with a high level of pressure and responsibility 
  • Prepared to work long and unsociable hours 
  • First class relationships with agencies and freelancers. 
  • A willingness to embrace on-going digital challenges 
  • An understanding of Sun "DNA" and excellent knowledge of news, showbiz and current affairs
