Job Details

Are you a Senior Price Reporter with commodities experience? Do you have experience writing copy and handling complex markets? We have a unique opportunity to join a thriving price reporting agency in central London. As a Senior Price Reporter you will produce price assessments and industry-leading market commentary, breaking news and analysis across multiple industrial minerals markets. This role would suit a journalist with some experience and a strong interest in economics, finance, commodities or business publishing. Full training will be provided over a one-month period.

Key duties:

Produce, peer-review and approve price assessments in line with company procedures

Be responsible for key aspects of projects and take ownership of markets as well as organise and chair meetings

Mentor and coach reporters when required

Develop and maintain a contact-base including meetings and networking

Demonstrate an increasing breadth in content by using experience and knowledge to deliver market commentary such as in-depth features, focus pieces and analysis

Demonstrate consistent use of judgement to produce representative prices in challenging markets

Attend and present at events and webinars and chair panel discussions when necessary

Experience / skills required:

High level of written and spoken English with knowledge of Spanish advantageous

Some journalism experience is required ideally in a price reporting capacity, covering B2B, commodities, financial or economics topics

An interest in and an understanding of financial markets/commodities

Cross-market knowledge of a number of market beats, with expertise evident in at least one market

A team player with excellent presentation and communication skills and a confident telephone manner

A tactful and diplomatic attitude and the ability to work in a team

Solid networking skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships

Ability to work with numbers and spreadsheets and produce analytical editorial copy
