Full time staff writer required for Scratch magazine, a leading B2B magazine for the nail and beauty industry.

This role is ideally suited to a recent journalism/English graduate and includes writing and collating news and features for the magazine and website, attending beauty trade shows, creating engaging social media content and reporting from press events.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about the beauty/nail sector and highly personable, with a bursting ideas bank for features and online content.

Working within a team, he or she will report to the managing editor and be confident about heading to events and interviewing key industry figures in the industry.

The applicant must be able to turn content around quickly and accurately across all platforms.

Multimedia content production skills (video and audio) would be an advantage but is not essential, as would sound knowledge of SEO and WordPress.

Please note this position is based on the Kent/Surrey border, NOT London.

Applicants must be able to drive to Scratch’s location in Westerham, Kent within one hour.

Starting job role will be editorial assistant with promotion to news & features writer following successful completion of three-month probation period.

Hours: 9am-5pm Mon-Friday with some occasional weekend work (press events, expos, Fashion Week etc).
