FinanceAsia, is an award-winning provider of exclusive news, insight and analysis on the latest financial developments affecting Asia’s entrepreneurs.

It is seeking a Deputy Editor to cover and oversee our coverage of the new economy sectors arising in the region’s major economies.

The Deputy Editor will form part of a team responsible for breaking exclusive content that delivers unique information for a financially literate audience of investors, c-suite corporate executives and financial regulators. Stories must both excite and inform market opinion.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

The Deputy Editor must have experience editing in-depth financial news and analysis.

He/She should be comfortable conducting exclusive interviews with company owners and thought leaders – challenging them on their strategies and holding their plans to account.

Along with the Editor, the Deputy Editor must hit a standard in journalism that inspires the reporting team and pushes them to go further.

He/She will have the opportunity to travel and develop our contact base and investigate stories that connect the dots on regional corporate finance trends, uncover burgeoning fund flows, highlight weaknesses/strengths in funding or corporate strategy, or to conduct in-depth executive profiles.

His/Her stories must provide unique, value-adding analysis and insight into the colourful world of Asian business and the financing of it.

We expect a Deputy Editor’s core audience to grow steadily throughout his/her career at FinanceAsia as his/her skills, network and profile in financial circles grows.

The Deputy Editor will share key responsibilities with the Editor to ensure the smooth running of the brand.

We expect staff at all times to behave in an ethical fashion, uphold FinanceAsia’s high standards of journalism and adhere to Haymarket’s Code of Conduct.

The candidate should be a native English speaker and also possess a good working knowledge of finance.

Other languages are a plus, notably mandarin, as is a working knowledge of data visualisation.
