Job Details
Are you a writer or journalist with a knowledge and interest in technology and digital hardware? A leading and globally-recognised testing firm, located an easy commute from Reading or London, is looking for an experienced technical writer/ associate editor who is confident working with complex technical information. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly company with ambitious expansion plans.
Key duties:
- Write bespoke and standardised reports as well as market analysis
- Work closely with lab testing analysts and turn complex information into intelligible copy
- Proofread copy and collect data for report use
- Gain an overview of the market and expand knowledge of hardware and software business products
- Liaise with translation agency and provide support to the rest of the team
Experience / skills required:
- Solid experience in a writing/editing/publishing role
- A B2B background within technology is preferred, but candidates with experience in other sectors, such as legal or healthcare, will also be considered
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to create clear copy about technology
- Strong level of MS Office (particularly Excel and Word), knowledge of InDesign, PowerPoint and HTML is preferred
- A meticulous attention to detail and the ability to use initiative
- Educated to degree level or equivalent ideally in journalism, English or related discipline
