This is an exciting opportunity to join The Telegraph’s audio department as we take on ambitious new storytelling projects.

You’ll work with the team behind Bryony Gordon’s Mad World, Expenses and Chopper’s Brexit Podcast, and in collaboration with hundreds of the UK's best reporters, correspondents and writers.

The role will include hands-on production across our roster of weekly and bi-weekly shows, and work pitching and developing longform "box set" series.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience on a professional podcast and / or within radio production, a track record for developing original ideas, and a passion for politics and current affairs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Help to produce The Telegraph’s existing slate of podcasts; including scripting, studio recording, editing and publishing.
  • Work alongside our Podcast Editor to pitch and develop new audio shows.
  • Collaborate with other teams in the Telegraph, including social, online publishing, and events.
  • Analyse audience data.


Essential skills required for the role:

  • Proven ability to script and edit high quality, information-rich audio shows - whether for radio, on demand, or both.
  • A keen interest in politics and current affairs
  • Full knowledge of media law.
  • Passion for podcasting as a medium.


Additional skills useful for the role:

  • Experience producing audio stories that convey a sense of character and that have a narrative arc
  • Experience producing sports podcasts
  • Sound design and mastering skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (specifically Audition and Premiere)
  • Experience working with a slate of podcast producers and production companies
