Job Details

We are looking for a talented and experienced sports reporter to join award-winning national press agency Sportsbeat based in our London office in Twickenham.

We are primarily looking for a reporter with a good knowledge of rugby union, horse racing and football – but ideally who also has an interest and strong understanding of cricket and Olympic sports.

You'll have to love sport, be a team player and a great all-rounder, with the ability to use Quark XPress, InDesign and edit content to tight deadlines and have a strong knowledge of various content management systems.

Working with some of the biggest national governing bodies, major event organisers, sponsors and brands in European sport, this innovative content creator must also have a passion, knowledge and understanding of running and delivering across social media accounts.

As well as being a talented sub-editor and writer, we are looking for a reporter with a minimum of two years’ experience in a newsroom and knowledge of social media platforms – this is not a position for a journalism starter.

Candidates will need to have a full NCTJ diploma in journalism, including 100-words per-minute shorthand and should possess a full clean driving licence.

Enthusiasm and a love of digital media and working across social media accounts, as well as a track record in print is essential, plus have a flexible approach to working hours and weekends are a necessity. We are looking to fill the role promptly.

All applications should be submitted to Sportsbeat editor-in-chief David Parsons by completing the application form below.

Company

We are an award-winning creative multimedia agency that produces agenda-setting content from our offices in London, Manchester and Dublin. We love stories – on every platform, from newsprint to SnapChat.

We partner with some of the biggest names in sport – from the Football Association to the British Olympic Association, the British and Irish Lions to RBS Six Nations – to deliver their content strategies.

We assist national governing bodies, from the British Paralympic Association to the England and Wales Cricket Board, in bringing alive their sport, from the grass roots to the world stage and work as official content providers for over 50 top sports events.

And we help official partners leverage sports sponsorships through powerful, engaging and creative content, that always puts the story first while delivering millions of pounds worth of media value.

You’ll find us working at the Olympic Games and the UK School Games – and our content can be packaged for syndication to international, national, regional and local audiences, across every media platform.

And we invest in the journalists of tomorrow. Our training partnership with the UK’s number one journalism school News Associates was named in 2017 as the best journalism course in the country by the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
