Job Details

Do you live and breathe real life TV, true crime and documentaries? Are you a first-rate storyteller who can turn small screen dramas into hard-hitting copy? Mirror Online has an amazing opportunity for a features writer to join our growing team.

We are Reach because it's what we do.

Every day our newsbrands - national and regional, in print and online - reach millions of people up and down the country.

We are the UK's largest news publisher, with influential national newsbrands such as the Daily Mirror, Daily Express, Sunday People, Daily Record, OK! & New! Magazines and more than 100 distinguished regional titles.

Our brands have a long heritage of being trusted sources of news and information, with our editorial conviction and high standards of journalism providing audiences with timely information and opinion across multiple platforms.

Last year we sold 620 million newspapers, with 5.8 million readers of one of our brands each month. Our network of over 70 websites provide 24/7 coverage of news, sport and showbiz stories, with 8.1 billion page views per year.

Key Responsibilities:

You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality, accurate, well-researched pieces, written in an engaging and creative way.

You'll have a first rate eye for a news line and be able to turn stories round at speed. You'll be organised and able to source material from TV channels and streaming services.

You'll also update social media and stay on top of media law and industry guidelines. Working hours may vary, so you will need to be flexible.

The Ideal Candidate:

From DIY SOS to ISIS brides, you love real life TV and want to share it with our readers. You're clued up about the content that works, and how one moment of drama can be transformed into a must-read story.

You'll be interested in everything, from luxury lifestyles to hellhole prisons. Your storytelling abilities are hard to beat - you'll need to be a fantastic copywriter who works quickly and accurately.

This is an opportunity for someone who loves writing and is comfortable with longer form pieces.

You'll have had at least three years experience at national, large regional or agency and you'll have a news background with solid digital experience.

You're creative, you're passionate and you're ready to take the next step in your reporting career.
